The whole design of the Angel's Bay bar is based on the brand Azores, it was dominant note from the first conversations with the promoters of the project, to highlight the bar as a mean to advertise the image, products and services of a region. This means the word "Azores" not as a geographical limit but as cultural, artistic and intellectual that transcend beyond the archipelago of the Azores. Of these assumptions germinated a new concept of bar based on 3 stages: the themes, the photographs and projections .
This relationship articulated [themes, photographs, projections] is established through the fortnightly or monthly themes designated by the management of the bar while having the Azores as a general theme and sub-themes of events that are happening [ex. celebrations of Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres (S.Miguel) | Sanjoaninas (Terceira), feast of Santa Maria Madalena (Pico)]. These sub-themes are thus the concept for the introduction to the gourmet level of small snacks, liquor, local and cultural products as well as products for exposure and sales.
The second stage, the pictures, is an integral part of these themes fortnightly or monthly in order to meet the assumptions of management of space. The introduction of photographs is done by each client. We want with this concept to allow that each customer feels that is part of a collective and cultural event and that the photograph is established by ties of identity and memory to create a fundamental bar environment of sound, harmonious and thematic. We would like new technologies in space, are the "new paintings from the marina of Ponta Delgada" of the twenty-first century and that may converge towards an area that takes its identity but also an area of modernity, innovation and creativity.
The third and final stage, the PROJECTIONS, establish remate end of these three steps, putting thus the three moments of image and interaction. Accordingly, the projections are set by three different ways [3 units of digital frames 24cm x 17cm, 2 LCD units 70cm x 100cm and 1 unit of projection machine], that displays thematic images, thereby establishing technologies with their own custom environments.
The digital frames are placed into intimate modules, which are incorporated in the general area, but are itself as an area closer to 12 people, divided into 3 independent modules that act as a dug wall coated with a layer of padding in color - orange.
The two LCD for having a more expandable capacity and vertically, are positioned in the two pillars of light in a front relationship enabling customers who are in the area to watch projections of images and videos complement of 180 º.
The last form of projection, works with the background of space, positioned on the east wall, which is the area of the stage and covers the entire capacity of recreational area, allowing for general viewing of images and video.
